Ordinances 

The City of Grey Forest has many ordinances and codes that are in place to provide for the health and welfare of the citizens, running of the city government, and numerous other controls and activities.  The following is a synopsis and links to a few of the ordinances, resolutions, and city codes that affect our daily lives.  These Ordinances may be changed over time by the city council.

Zoning, Building, and other property related items

Ordinance # 45B – Zoning/Buildings

Ordinance #45B  provides general regulation of building and business within the City of Grey Forest including but not limited to: City Districts; Single Family Dwelling use, construction, regulations, setbacks, aesthetics; Non-conforming building and temporary residences, permits and enforcement.

Ordinance #91A – Fences

Ordinance #91A Ordinance #91A provides general regulation of fencing within the City of Grey Forest including but not limited to restrictions on obstructing traffic views and permitting.

Ordinance #48 – Stagnant water, weeds, rubbish, etc.

Ordinance #48 provides general regulation of keeping property within the City of Grey Forest including but not limited to restricting stagnant water; accumulation of filth, trash and rubbish; high weeds, brush and grass; and blighted area. Resolution # 05–2 – Dark Skies This resolution intends to preserve dark skies via restricting lighting that would diminish the viewing of nighttime skies within the City of Grey Forest

 

Animals

Ordinance #51 – Animal Control

Ordinance #51 provides general regulation of animals in the City of Grey Forest including but not limited to: licenses and permits, animal control, care and keeping of animals, the number of pets in a household, and other special provisions.

Activities

Ordinance # 112 – Burning

Ordinance #112 restricts burning within the City of Grey Forest.

Ordinance #191 – Curfew

Ordinance #191 establishes a curfew for persons under the age of 17 who may not be on the streets of the City of Grey Forest between the hours of midnight and 6:00 AM.

City Code Chapter 13 – Noise

City Code Chapter 13 provides general regulation of noise within the City of Grey Forest including but not limited to unreasonably loud and disturbing noise from television, music, animals, horns, signals, automobile, motorcycles, and construction noise between 10:00pm and 7:00am.

Ordinance # 24A – Solicitors

Ordinance#24A provides general regulation on soliciting and canvassing within the City of Grey Forest including but not limited to restricting the activites of solicitors, canvassers, peddlers, etc without a valid license issued by the City.
