Full Time Police Officer

The Grey Forest Police Department is currently accepting applications for Peace Officers. Peace Officers are under general supervision and are responsible for providing police protection to the citizens and businesses of the City of Grey Forest. 

  • Provides for the protection of life and property within the community and the enforcement of local, State, and Federal laws, regulations, codes, and ordinances.
  • Conducts a variety of duties that include patrol, traffic enforcement, criminal investigations, driving emergency vehicles, and special duties and assignments .

This position is eligible for other city benefits such as sick leave, vacation, or retirement.

Reserve Officer

The Grey Forest Police Department is currently accepting applications for Reserve Peace Officers. Reserve Peace Officers are under general supervision and are responsible for providing police protection to the citizens and businesses of the City of Grey Forest. The Reserve Peace Officer is a voluntary position with the Grey Forest Police Department. Each volunteer must be able to commit the required hours a month and attend training.

  • Provides for the protection of life and property within the community and the enforcement of local, State, and Federal laws, regulations, codes, and ordinances.
  • Conducts a variety of duties that include patrol, traffic enforcement, criminal investigations, driving emergency vehicles, and special duties and assignments .

This position is not eligible for other city benefits such as sick leave, vacation, or retirement.

Police Force

The Grey Forest Police Department is comprised of full-time Police Chief, two full time officers, one shift officer and over 50 Reserve Officers. Reserve officers that work in Grey Forest wear the same uniform, have the same training, and perform the same duties as full time Police Officers, but on a part-time volunteer basis. Currently there are over 50 officers within the department with a combined total of more than 200 years of work experience.   All officers are fully licensed peace officers dedicated to serving the city through a devotion of valuable time and effort toward a common goal: Creating a Safer Community.

McGruff Safe Kids Program

The Grey Forest Police Department offers a Kids identification kit which includes a personal record card with child-safe fingerprint ink and includes engaging, interactive personal safety tips for parents and children. The guidebook is proven to help kids learn how to be safe on the streets and online.

Out of Town Program

The Grey Forest Police Department encourages citizens to fill out a form when they are going to be away from their residence for any extended period. Officers with the department will check the location during their patrol shift.

You may download the form by clicking the link below or stop by City Hall.  After filling out the form, drop it by City Hall to the City Secretary or put it in the drop box at City Hall and it will be picked up the following business day.
